Biz Talk

biz talk

Through the lessons in this workshop, you will gain insight and advice that will put you on track to getting your first paying customers, finding a like-minded community, reaching positive cash flow and building the foundation for long-term success.

You will learn exactly what to do (and what not to do) to start your startup from someone who has already been there and has the “in-the-trenches” business battle scars to prove it. (I’ve written about the biggest mistakes entrepreneurs make and 7 essential steps to take before launching your startup)

The lessons come with homework assignments to reinforce what you learn – a roadmap to success that will include step-by-step instructions on how to start a small business with explanations of how you can overcome challenges you might be facing.

When you’re first getting to know someone, what are the questions you ask to determine how you feel about the other person? What do you ask to see if y’all would be a good fit as friends or not?

Today, I want to bring up two questions we often ask and show how they relate to a business. Then, I want you to download the homework (to complete before you start your Biz Talk Workshop) that gets at the What? and substance of what you want to do.

Now for the questions we commonly ask other people when we first meet them:

So, what do you? {As in, what job/work do you do that fills most of your days? Or, what side projects are you pursuing that fill your days?}

This question gets at the substance of what a person fills the world with. You’ll likely either be interested in what they do, be neutral about their job, or seriously dislike what they do. If your business had to answer this question (So, what do you do?), what would the answer be? P.S. It’s okay if you don’t know the answer yet—Biz Talk Workshop will help.

What do you like to do for fun? What are your interests/hobbies?

This question gets at the heart of someone’s personality–or the parts of it that come out as actions and interests. If someone asked you this about you as a business, what would your response be?
